Interactive Flickr Slideshow

flickrSLiDR

flickrSLiDR allows you to easily embed flickr slideshows on your website or blog. All you need to do is enter the flickr URL address of the user, photo set or group.

flickrSLiDR also allows you to interact with the slideshow in three ways:
* hover over the top of the slideshow to reveal a control panel, where you can play/pause, move backwards/forwards and change the speed of the slideshow.
* hover over the bottom of the slideshow to reveal a selection of the slides, where you can select any slide directly.
* click on any slide to reveal the details that were entered by the person who uploaded the photo to flickr.

This is the flickrSLiDR slideshow for the 'Bird Watching' group with over 50,000 photos!

Created with Admarket's flickrSLiDR.

Photobucket the One Stop Shop

Photobucket is an image and video hosting site. As well as hosting, Photobucket enables you to edit your images, including red eye fix, automatic fix, crop, rotate, resize, flip and change contrast. For the more adventurous, Photobucket also has a layers feature.

Slideshow creation, in three easy steps, is also available in Photobucket as well as video creation - in just five easy steps! The video creation is really fun with lots of built in features such as text, borders and music to add.

This is a little sample of a video created in Photobucket. Our College staff trip to Denmark this year. Can you identify the town we were in? :-)

Image Editing and Slideshow Creation

FlauntR LogoflauntR is a one stop shop for online image editing and slideshow creation.

With flauntR you can create custom slideshows choosing from over "20 high end transition effects". Although, as far as I could tell, you can only use one transition per slide show - not different transitions for different slides.

FlauntR FeaturesThrough stylR you can edit your images by adding effects, frames, filters and overlays. There does not seem to be an easy 'undo button' to use if you apply an effect and don't like it! There is a reset button but this clears all the changes even if you only want to clear the last one.

textR allows you to add text using all sorts of fancy fonts, sizes, colours and alignments. editR lets you re-size, rotate or crop the image as well as adding effects such as sepia.

flauntR allows you to save your images to your online account or to your own computer.

Found this site from Paul Reid's blog. On first impressions, I still prefer Picnik, featured in an earlier post, but I guess I will give flauntR another go!

Neat Image Viewing Application

SimpleViewer

SimpleViewer is a lovely, flash based, image viewing application. SimpleViewer has a customizable interface where the text color, frame color and width plus navigation position can all be changed.

SimpleViewer also boasts an interface that scales to fit the browser window. Beware though, SimpleViewer is designed for showing, at most, around 50 images per gallery. Anything more than this will be too slow and the program may freeze!

Flash7 or higher is also required.

Online Goodies (8) - Slideshare

Slideshare
Slideshare is a great website to use for sharing all your slideshows. It claims to be the "world's largest community for sharing presentations on the web".  You can upload your PowerPoint, OpenOffice, Keynote or PDF presentations.

Slideshare also enables you to tag the presentations and embed them into your blog or website. You can search and browse for other relevant presentations and bulid up personal and group contacts.

This is an interesting one covering 25 basic styles of blogging. Didn't know there were so many!

Slideshare has recently introduced slidecasting (adding audio to your slideshow). It is easy to use and gives a definite multimedia dimention to the presentation. Here's one I made earlier. Sit back and enjoy!

Online Goodies (4) - Scrapblog

Scrapblog will appeal to all those visually gifted bloggers who subscribe to the theory that 'a picture paints a thousand words'. A true multimedia treasure, Scrapblog allows you to combine text, photos, video and audio to create multimedia scrapbooks. As with all websharing sites there are many excellent examples on view providing ample inspiration - should you need it!

This site provides a relatively easy way to produce stunning educational multimedia content. Although audio can be added as a backing track, individual audio files cannot be added to the different pages - unlike the video files. But, it seems the video files can only be added from YouTube.

Once published, your completed scrapbook can be viewed online as a slideshow. The scrapbook may also be posted to Facebook or Flickr and then downloaded from there.
