Scribus is an open source DTP package. It can be used for producing all your newsletters, posters and brochures etc. The sofware is quite powerful including some high end features that would be found in commercial packages such as Microsoft Office Publisher.Support for Scribus is supplied in several ways including documentation, mailing list, wiki and bugtracker. You can also find several video tutorials on GoogleVideo (search for scribus).
There is also a portable version available - although I haven't tried it. The following video gives a brief introduction to the basic features of Scribus for the uninitiated!
